Weddings and Thanksgivings (Blessings)

If you are planning to get married, many congratulations to you both. Marriage is a gift of God and a cause for celebration! We would love for you to marry here at Amesbury Parish Church and will do whatever we can to assist and support you. If you wish, your marriage can take place within a Eucharist (Holy Communion).

There are a number of legal and other things which need to be considered at an early stage and it is always a good idea to book the date of your wedding in good time. For these reasons, please make contact with the church to discuss your plans as soon as you are ready to do so.

If you married some time ago you may wish to have a Thanksgiving for Marriage service in church, which includes a renewal of vows. Just like a wedding, this can be a simple or more elaborate service, depending on what you would like on the day. Please contact Fr Darren for more information.

You may have already had a civil marriage and now wish to receive God’s blessing on your marriage in church. This is called a service of Prayer and Dedication after a Civil Marriage. Again, this can be a simple or more elaborate service to meet your needs. If you would like to explore this further please be in touch with the church by emailing contact@amesburyparishchurch.org. Thank you.
